Pray and Prepare to Lead Someone to Jesus
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV
PRAISE GOD! You are a new creation in Christ Jesus. You’re filled with the Holy Spirit…and eager to share your faith with those around you. But where do you start?
Consider this:
It was no coincidence that Jesus spotted the hated tax collector Zaccheus in a tree as he passed through Jericho and that He seized the moment to invite himself to Zaccheus’ house. For Jesus was on a mission and was prepared: “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:1-10)
Nor was it a fluke that Jesus was alone by a deep well when a Samaritan woman approached him. Though thirsty and hungry, he was ready to engage her in a life-changing conversation—and not only her, but with many from her town. The results? Many more believed: “For we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.” (John 4:7-42)
And it was no mere chance that Paul met Lydia on the Sabbath day—“supposing” that the riverside outside the Philippi city gate would be a place for prayer. God had rerouted Paul’s itinerary and led him to where he was needed. “…and the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul. (Acts 16:6-15)
These and other encounters were “divine appointments”—the result of fervent prayer by both Jesus and Paul to share with others the liberating, healing, Rock-solid truth contained in God’s Word.
Today, PRAY that God will provide similar opportunities for you AND that you will be prepared to give a defense for the hope that is in you. (1 Peter 3:15)
Who could you share Jesus with today?
